Privacy Policy – Driftwood Notes
Summary
Driftwood Notes works fully offline and without an account. Your notes, collections, and rhythm / quiet-hours settings stay exclusively on your device. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services and does not send data to us or to anyone else.
What data the app processes
- Your notes, collections, and rhythm / quiet-hours profiles are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you trigger an export yourself (see below).
- Application logs: the app writes technical logs (e.g. for troubleshooting) to a local file on your device. These logs are not transmitted automatically.
- Notifications: reminders are scheduled and shown as local push notifications directly on your device (no push server, no remote push).
What the app does not do
- No user account, no registration.
- No cloud sync is active in this version (the data model is technically prepared for it, but no sync provider is connected).
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No sharing of data with third parties.
Export/import
You can export all of your app data as an XML file at any time (via your operating system’s native share sheet) and save or import it wherever you choose. What happens to that file afterwards is entirely up to you — the app itself does not send it anywhere.
Permissions
The app only requests permissions for local notifications (e.g. showing notifications, and on Android additionally scheduling exact alarms and rescheduling after a device restart). These permissions serve exclusively the local reminder feature described above.
